Altough things may seem a little quite here at the moment, behind the scenes especially in our Beta Testing area
we have been hard at work on some new features for GA2 currently undergoing testing and further development.

These include

Changes to the Stock Control system such as autmated order management.
Addition of a Jobsheet section to fully utilise order management prior to invoicing.
Minor fixes and changes

We are hoping to have a final release out shortly.

A new service pack for GA2 will be released shortly.

This service pack has minor updates to the VRM lookup system,  the VRM service will be enabled for use as from 25th March 2008, please call to activate this on your system

Some additional modifications include enhancements to the document list’s
and also the reports and chart’s section.

These include huge speed improvements over all previous versions of GA meaning reports are now generated in seconds and the document list screens load much faster with smoother scrolling.

The first beta release of GA2 has now been made available to a selection of our beta testers.

We have some final testing to conduct and a few refinements, but the release date should be soon !

With the integration of VRM lookup we have added a number of new fields which are auto populated when you sign up with the VRM provider.  If you do not wish to use the VRM lookup you can manually enter information.  

There is also a few additional fields which you may find come in handy..

One thing I would like to add, the extra fields shown in the screenshot may not be the ones used when version 2 goes live
they where added to test the integration to carweb’s data feed.

Version 2 of garage assistant will have the option to integrate with a Vehicle Registration Mark lookup provider

This will give you the ability to perform VRM lookups directly from your system and view / record a wealth of information about a specific vehicle such as :

I have added a new section to the document screen which offers you the following information.

• Visual representation of when an MOT or Service is due, along with dates.
• The date the vehicle was last entered on your system
• The total of all invoices for this vehicle
• All previous advisory notices for the vehicle
• All previous parts fitted to the vehicle

The information is only displayed once a registration is entered for the document as it is vehicle specific.

I have now “refined” the draft layouts and proposed menu bar (altough order of icons will more than likely change)
Below are a few new screenshots showing some of the changes.

Im sure you will agree, it is now becoming very “pleasing on the eye”

You can also change colour schemes of a selection of elements, such as the navigation bar, title bars and backgrounds to create a more customised system.

I have also very nearly finished the invoice creation screen.  Altough I will be keeping a very similar look some sections have been changed to allow more functionality as required by V2

But dont worry… Version 2 isnt just about a new look.  Theres going to be a wealth of new features to keep you going !

Along with many other changes to the system, we are working on a new User Interface for Garage Assistant Version 2.
